PHP 7.4 is Coming and We’re Ready

The latest version of PHP 7.4 is coming and Lodgik Hosting (as always) will be adopting the update immediately. The WordPress platform is built on top of PHP. Along with millions of other platforms and sites. So any update to the core PHP language is a big deal to our customers and the web at large.

The latest version of PHP is 7.3 (this is what all Lodgik Hosting sites currently run on). The next significant release of PHP is version 7.4 and it’s expected to launch around November 2019.

Lodgik Hosting will automatically update all our sites to PHP 7.4 when it’s released. The primary benefit to our clients is performance. WordPress will be faster and so will your sites.

PHP 7.4, the next PHP 7 minor release, is expected to be released to the General Availability on November 28th, 2019. So it’s time for us to dive into some of the most exciting additions and new features that will make PHP faster and more reliable.
